● Not another allowance app

Your kids' first economy.
Not their next allowance.

Fondwise turns pocket money into a real financial education — jobs they choose to earn, envelopes they manage themselves, screen time they can work for, and money that behaves like actual money.

The 3 E's

Allowance teaches waiting. This teaches earning.

Fondwise is built on Scott Donnell's 3E home-economy framework — three roles for money in a kid's life, each doing a different job. Nothing here is "free money for existing."

01
Expectations

Being part of the family isn't a paid job

Making the bed, homework, basic chores — these happen because everyone in the house contributes. No money changes hands, and that's the point.

02
Expenses

Real responsibilities, real budget

Parents fund an optional "starting capital" — weekly or monthly, whichever matches how money actually arrives in your house — that covers the things kids are now in charge of buying. Spend it badly, feel it before the next drop.

03
Extra Pay

Gigs they choose, money they earn

A running list of paid jobs around the house — parents post them, kids claim them, photo proof if needed, parent approves, money lands instantly.

📱
Show, don't just tell

Not sure how to pitch this to your kids?

We built a 2-minute interactive walkthrough made just for them — swipeable, no reading required, ends with them ready to open their own account. Hand them your phone and let the app do the convincing.

Everything included

One app, the whole system

Every mechanic below already exists and works today — this isn't a roadmap, it's what your family opens on day one.

💼

Gig marketplace

Parents post paid jobs, kids claim and submit — with optional photo proof for the ones that need checking.

One-tap approval

A single queue for every gig, allowance release, and cash-out request — approve from your phone in seconds.

🪣

Four real envelopes

Every reward splits automatically into Spending, Savings, Giving and Investing — kids see the trade-off instantly.

New
📱

Screen-Time Economy

Turn gigs into screen-time minutes instead of money — or let a family run both currencies side by side, parent-configured per gig.

New
📈

Investing that can track the real market

Money in Investing buys units of "The 3E Fund" — simulated by default, or optionally linked to a real market index (Nasdaq, S&P 500, Dow) so the price moves with actual daily returns. Gains and losses included, on purpose.

🔥

Streaks & celebrations

Daily habits build streaks with freeze protection; approvals trigger a coin-drop moment kids actually look forward to.

🎯

Savings goals with a photo

Kids attach a picture of what they're saving for — the goal card fills in as real money gets closer to real progress.

🏠

Home Assistant notifications

Wire approval requests and streak reminders into your existing smart-home dashboard — no extra app to check.

🖨️

Fridge print view

A clean, printable board of this week's gigs and who claimed what — for the family that still likes paper on the fridge.

The four buckets

Every euro has a job the moment it arrives

Rewards split automatically by a ratio parents set. No bucket, no decision — the money is already organized before a kid even sees it.

💸 Spending

Their money, their calls

Funded weekly + gig earnings. Theirs to spend on anything in an unlocked category — good decisions and bad ones both live here.

🏦 Savings

Grows on its own

Parents can turn on real monthly interest — the first time most kids ever watch money grow just for sitting still.

🤝 Giving

Generosity, matched

Optional parent-matching on every euro given — giving becomes a strategy, not just a nice idea.

📈 Investing

Real market feel

Buys into a simulated fund with real weekly volatility — the first lesson in "value goes down sometimes" happens here, safely.

Pricing

One price per family, not per kid

A family of two kids pays the same as a family of five. Full access from day one, no features locked behind a second tier.

Built at the kitchen table, not in a boardroom

⭐🌸
"I didn't want to hand my daughters money for existing. I wanted them to run a small economy of their own — jobs, savings, even a little investing — before they ever leave the house. Every feature here is something Stefi and Dania actually use every week."
— The parent who built Fondwise, currently run by two very opinionated girls
Privacy, by design

Built for kids who never make an account

Every child in Fondwise is added by a parent — no email, no password, no profile a child fills in themselves.

No child accounts, ever

Kids get a name, an avatar, and a short PIN — set by a parent. No email, no password, nothing a child creates alone.

One isolated database per family

Your family's data lives in its own file, never a shared table with a "family ID" column — structurally, not just by permission.

Export or delete, anytime

A full data export or permanent deletion is one tap in Parent Mode → Settings. No support ticket required.

FAQ

Questions parents actually ask

Is this basically Greenlight or GoHenry with a different theme? +

No — those are debit cards with a chore checklist bolted on. Fondwise has no card and no real bank rail; it's a structured economy simulation that runs inside your family, on top of money you already move yourself (cash, bank transfer, whatever you use). The point isn't the card, it's the system.

What is the Screen-Time Economy, exactly? +

A Premium feature that lets a gig pay out in screen-time minutes instead of (or alongside) money — parents set the conversion rate per gig, and kids can also "buy" extra screen time with money they've already earned. Useful for families who want the earning system to govern screens, not just cash.

Do I still have to physically move money? +

Yes, today. The app tracks and teaches the system — the actual money still moves the way your family already handles it. A linked-card version is a possible future direction, not what this is built around.

What happens after my 14-day trial ends? +

You'll need to subscribe to keep using Fondwise — there's no permanently-free tier. The trial unlocks the whole app immediately, no card required, so you actually use it with your kids before deciding, not just poke at a demo. Want to look around first without starting a trial at all? Use the "Try the demo" link in the app — one shared demo family, reset regularly.

Is my kids' data safe? +

Each family's data lives in its own isolated database file, never shared with or queryable from another family's. No child ever creates their own login. Full details live in our privacy policy.

What ages does this work for? +

Built and battle-tested with two real kids across the range where pocket money starts mattering — roughly 7 to 14. Older teens tend to like the investing simulator especially.

Is the 3E Fund actually connected to the stock market? +

Optionally, yes — a parent can link it to a real index (Nasdaq, S&P 500, Dow) so the price moves with that index's real daily return. But it's still a simulation: your kid's money stays in your family's own currency the whole time, no real shares are ever bought, and there's no brokerage account behind it. Off by default — the classic simulated version works exactly as before.
