Terms of Service

Fondwise · Last updated: [DATE — fill in before publishing]

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Fondwise (the "Service"), a family finance and chores app. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, your household. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who may create an account

Accounts are created by a parent or legal guardian ("you", "the account holder") on behalf of their family. Children do not create their own accounts, do not agree to these Terms themselves, and access the Service only through profiles you set up for them within your account, using a PIN you choose. You are responsible for your children's use of the Service under your account.

What the Service is — and isn't

Fondwise is a household organization tool: it helps you assign chores, track allowances, savings goals, and optional screen-time rewards for your children. It is not a bank, is not a regulated financial institution, does not move real money between your household and any external account except where you explicitly configure a real linked account, and does not provide financial advice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Your data

Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how it's used — it's part of these Terms by reference. You can export or permanently delete your family's data at any time from Parent Mode → Settings.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, engages in abusive behavior toward the Service or other users, or where required by law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time; deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fondwise and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This section is a placeholder and should be reviewed against the consumer-protection law of every jurisdiction where the Service is offered before public launch.

Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms over time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where required, notify account holders by email before the changes take effect.
